They seem to definitely offer above average prices for buying and recycling the more modern Nokia mobile phones but for some of the older models, lesser known models and other brands, their prices seem to be fairly average.

We’ve added several new mobile phone recyclers over the last couple of weeks, after stringent checking that they fit in with our site ethos of having an easy to find contact telephone number and postal address.

The first of these is MirrorGoGreen, owned by MGN Ltd. This is a fairly standard yet easy to use web site that also lists and recycles many different gadgets, such as laptops and MP3 players.

June’s Most Popular Mobile Phone – Apple iPhone 8Gb

It looks the arrival of Apple’s latest incarnation of the iPhone has caused owners of the older generations of handsets to look at ditching them for the latest model. The most popular mobile phone being sold in June was the original iPhone 8Gb closely followed by the 16Gb of the same model. Both these phones have held on to their value reasonable well with the 8Gb version fetching £97 and the 16Gb selling for £115 at the close of play in June. The 8Gb’s value has subsequently dropped sharply, probably due to a case of supply and demand.

Good old Nokia are still in there with third and fourth places and LG have grabbed the remaining top 5 place this month.

May’s Most Popular Mobile Phone – Nokia N95 8GB

Looks like this month the crown is still atop Nokia’s head but the face on the head is the Nokia N95 8Gb this month. For the month of May, it was the most sold mobile phone handset. This comes as no real surprise as it’s been hanging around in the top 5 for the last few months! It looks like the sale price is on the way down though as the phone could be sold for over £120 at the beginning of the month but this is now down to under £100 so if you’ve got one of these you want to sell or recycle, do it quickly before it loses any more value.

April’s Most Popular Mobile Phone – Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Looks like the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is still a very popular phone for all you mobile phone sellers and recyclers. For the month of April, it again was the most sold mobile phone handset. After peaking at £96 on the 12th, the value of this phone now seems to be on the downward spiral so if anyone out there still has one of these phones to sell, the trend indicates that it’s probably better to sell it sooner rather than later with the current highest price being paid at £84.

Debenhams Mobile Recycling

Debenhams is the latest big name to enter the world of mobile phone recycling, taking on the suitable moniker of Debenhams Mobile Recycling. Debenhams has taken a leaf out of Boots’ book and is offering it’s own vouchers instead of hard cash. Whether this will meet with approval from all of you mobile phone sellers, only time will tell.

Offer-wise, they currently seem to be sitting middle to low in the price tables for most of the mobile phones we looked at. So, it probably boils down to them trading off of their strong brand name to entice the punters to sell their mobiles to them. Of course, if you were going to buy a Debenhams gift card as a prezzie for a loved one, selling your phone this way saves a trip in to town! The other bonus is that Debenhams will also buy your used or unwanted games consoles, MP3 players, digital cameras etc.

March’s Most Popular Mobile Phone

We have a new frontrunner this month. It’s still a Nokia phone, once again cementing their dominance in the market place, but this time the handset in question is the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic which, at the end of March, could still be sold for a tasty £96. What’s more, the price trend on this phone is going upwards so if you’re a gambling kind of person, you may get a few extra quid for one of these if you put off selling it for a while longer.
